- Director: Ridley Scott
- Synopsis: This movie is this true story about Frank Lucas and how he rose to power among the top drug dealers on the East coast. Frank learns about how to take care of himself and how to determine the differences between right and wrong from his mentor who supported the community, while also performing criminal activities to benefit themselves. After having his mentor that he was very close to die from a heart attack, Frank decides to take over the business of dealing heroin to the community that is better than everyone else’s because of how pure it is. He brings some of his brothers and even cousins into the business until eventually he is found out and ultimately arrested for the mass amount of dealing drugs.
- Review: I really enjoy this movie because of how authentic it is. Denzel Washington is one of my favorite actors, and he portrays Frank Lucas as someone who is ruthless, but also has a heart and cares about those who are close to him. This movie is very long because so much happened while Frank Lucas was in power, but the 3+ hours are worth the watch because of the quality acting that can keep the audience’s attention. I would definitely recommend watching this movie especially for quality performances from Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington.
