Zero Dark Thirty (2012)

This film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow. This film follows the intense interrogations and dead ends in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden ending with his passing at the mercy of the Navy  S.E.A.L. team.

I thought this was a very intense film. The director did a good job at giving the audience a feel for how grueling of a process this hunt for Osama was. It was interesting the way this was filmed it almost seemed like a documentary to me. I really liked the main character Maya. Her determination was a key element in making this film interesting (for me anyway). Through the whole film you can see how hard she was working and how much she was sacrificing to find this person. Throughout the whole movie characters give up the search and move onto different cases but not Maya. She would not give up hope. This film does give a very raw view into what was actually happening in the Middle East. You can feel the despair of Maya during scenes in the movie that lead to dead ends. The ending was very suspenseful. In a sense everyone already knew how it was going to end but there were definitely a couple scenes where the outcome was not looking very good. It’s pretty amazing how everything fell into place piece by piece. I really enjoyed this film. I recommend everyone should watch it!
