The Conjuring (2013) Directed by James Wan
The film The Conjuring follows the paranormal events that happen to a family when they move into a house that has been cursed by a previous owner. This film has an extra chill to it because it is based on a true story. The Perron family thinks they are moving into a beautiful farm house in the country. It is not long before weird terrifying things start happening to them. When things seem to be getting completely out of control the mother (Carolyn Perron) contacts paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Upon examination of the house the Warrens determine that something terrible has happened there and the Perron family is in fact being haunted by a demonic presents. It is up to the Warren’s to use their knowledge of the paranormal to help the Perron family rid themselves of the evil thing that is haunting them.
I thought this movie was very creepy. James Wan did a good job at completely terrifying his audience. I have seen the SAW movies (also directed by Wan) and I have to say this film definitely falls under the same level of terrifying as those do but with less gore. If you are looking for a movie to completely freak you out, I recommend this one.
