Forks Over Knives (2011) Directed by Lee Fulkerson

Documentary about how what we eat can be a directed to curing most if not all of the common disease that effects those in western cultures. This movie follows the career path of two doctors, Colin Campbell and Caldwell Esselstyn as they both embark on discovering how diet can effect the outcome of disease pertaining to the heart.

Colin Campbell becomes involved with a huge study undertaking in China with tremendous amount of data that point to animal products as being the key to turning off precursors to cancer as well as other disease leading him to prescribe a plant based diet as being the cure to several problems plaguing western culture.

At the same time Esselstyn makes a similar discovery in America as he trys to cure 25 people of their heart conditions with a plant based diet and exercise regime. He finds that the plant based diet not only rids the disease but will also reverse the damage caused by the disease.

These two men end up meeting after several years of being on the same path.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone looking to make a positive change in their lives. I would also recommend it to anyone frustrated with the current affairs of the medical profession only patching problems and not curing them. I often recommend friends and family who suffer from these and other afflictions to watch this movie with an open mind in hopes they will decide to make dietary changes.
