Soul Surfer

A+++++  Soul Surfer is a 2011 American drama film directed by Sean McNamara. It is a film adaptation of the 2004 autobiography Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board by Bethany Hamilton about her life as a surfer after a horrific shark attack and her recovery. It is store like this that encourage people of all ages that no mater what you CAN do anything. Soul surfer is about an up and coming female surfer and her best friend that are on track to be a professional surfer at a high level. Bethany grew up in Kauai, Hawaii and spent more time in the water then on land. Her parents called her their mermaid. The family attended church every week, Bethany attended bible studies on Wednesday evenings. Bethany surfed every day to train and to be ready to compete in up coming Surfing competition. And then Bethany’s world changed.

In between competitions while out training in the ocean, Bethany’s arm was bitten off by a shark. Bethany was blessed to of gotten to a hospital in time to save her life, she lost over 60% of her blood. There were two roads Bethany could of chosen, believing  that she could still do what ever she wanted or given up. It had to be one or the other. With the faith of God, the love for surfing, and the ambition to not give up Bethany leads us through her journey of not giving up. Takes us through the trails and tribulations of coming back from such a traumatic, life changing event.

With her family, friends and the surfing worlds support Bethany comes back strong and trains. through her amazing touching and emotional journey she gives the world hope and faith that any one can do anything.
