This week I watched The Bling Ring directed by Sofia Coppola. Apple Movies has .99 cent movies so I rent them and this looked like it was worth a dollar. The story is based on true facts about a group of teens in Hollywood that had clueless parents about who they were as a person and what the teens did when they were away from home or how they had all that they had. Teens that were breaking in to celebrities houses that they were in awe of and stealing the celebrities personal belongings. What this film means to me is the culture obsessions with other people’s lives. It is unfortunate that we are so swayed by possessions and status that it makes us who we really are not. I hope that for the people who obsess over other Peoples stature that the learn that it is not all that it is cracked up to be. I felt sorry for all of the celebrities that were not actually in the movie like Paris Hilton. Paris being in the movie was like say it was no big deal.
