BLACKHAWK DOWN

This movie is a portrayal of the events that took place in October of 1993, during a conflict with the Untied States military while on a peace keeping mission in Somalia. The warlords were taking the food that was brought in by the United Nations to help ease the famine that was plaguing the people of Somalia. It was just suppose to be a short routine mission that turned deadly. In the storyline none of the characters were equipped for what was to come.

It was written by Mark Bowden and directed by Ridley Scott. Scott uses a very realistic direction for an in your face experience. The editing in this film makes you feel like you are one of the solders in the middle of this intense gun battle. Focusing more on the storyline than on the characters themselves.

In my opinion this film is one of the greatest war movies ever made. I would rate this movie a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend seeing it more than once. It is extremely fast paced and hard to take in every detail seeing it for the first time.
