The Sweetest Thing (2002)

Directed by: Roger Kumble

Christina Walters and her two best friends navigate dating, heartbreak and love in San Francisco. This movie follows the adventures of these 20-something single, career women who up until now, have played the dating game.  After one of her friends experiences heartbreak, Commitment-phobe Christina decides to push her own fears of heartache aside and pursues love after a random meeting and connection with an already engaged to be married, Peter Donahue.  Can this end well?  Things are not always as they appear in matters of the heart.

Review: This movie is a feel-good, single ladies’ romp.  Diaz, Applegate and Blair make a fun, dynamic trio, playing well off of each other’s comedic timing.  If you are looking for a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously, this is one for you.  You will cheer for Christina Walters as she tries to figure out love on her own terms.  This movie has a fun soundtrack and gorgeous shots of San Fran.  The cast makes the movie fun as well as sizzle. 4/5
