Connie and Carla Directed by Michael Lembeck Written by and starring in the movie as Connie is Nia Vardalos who also wrote and starred in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” Tony Collette who played Carla was splendid in the role. Since childhood Connie and Carla have worked at being Show Gals but as their careers where taking a turn for the worst they stubble into witness a crime and now need to leave town. They settle on LA because it would be easy to get lost in Los Angeles. As they arrive they are looking for work but the only ones hiring show gals is a gay bar so the mishaps begin as they woman attempt to appear to be men, now all the members of the troupe that performs all appear to be female so the woman go from woman to being a man attempting to appear as woman. Confusing? Not really if you were to see the movie you will see for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, it has a very humorous scenes and the interplay between the actors is superbly performed. Categorizing this film as a comedy with a little drama thrown in for good measure or to change up a situation. The scenes from LA are funny, poignant and entertaining, all in all this is a good movie to see if you want to laugh.
