Mr. Brooks (2007)
Directed by: Bruce A. Evans
This movie is a horror film, but you wouldn’t realize this from the opening scene. Mr. Brooks is a well off individual with a large home, beautiful daughter and wife. Eventually the movie reveals a second side to him. Two different actors play one man as Mr Brooks, one side is the nice caring citizen, and the other side is a mass murderer. He has never come close to getting caught, but this time he was lazy and someone saw. Mr Brooks and this individual meet up and become Jedi and padawan of the killing arts. In the end Mr. Brooks kills off his new found trainee because he finds out his daughter has adopted his thirst for killing. He must turn his eyes towards her and help her learn how not to get caught.
The movie was great. The plot would just thicken and thicken, but not in a way that twisted the story line to the point that you don’t even know what movie you’re watching anymore. Surprise ending with the daughter killing her father after she realizes who he is.
